This tour will be at the longest shopping street in Japan. It will take around 2 hours.
We will start the tour in the Osaka, at the Museum of housing and living. The cost of this tour includes the entrance fee to the Museum. You will also get further elaboration with their earphone system (English only). After that, we will walk at the Tenjinbashi Suji Shotengai market. This market is a 2.6km-long shopping street, the longest in Japan, with 800 stores, old-fashioned diners, delicatessen, knife shops of a long tradition, a tea store established in 1868, and stores selling tofu, croquettes, chinaware, and kimono. You can also try different kinds of foods if you would like. This market developed into the commercial town it is today in the Meiji (19thcentury imperial restoration) era. The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living hosts a reconstruction this town in the Edo, Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. The Tenjin Festival takes place on July 24thand 25thevery year, with portable shrines being carried in the processions here, and with outdoor stalls and performances filling the air with pleasant spirits. We will see the famous black train and we will go and end the tour at the beautiful Osaka Temmangu.
