DAY 1: AIRPORT PICKUP The safari starts from Uganda’s international airport Entebbe with a pick up by our driver to hotel in Kampala the capital city which is 40km from the airport. A view of the Kampala streets and a night view of Kampala night at the hotel will be a warm welcome to this pearl of Africa.
DAY 2: TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK After a morning break fast at the hotel, our driver guide will be ready to pick you for a 8 hours drive journey west of Uganda to the park of Kibale forest via Fort Portal. Luncheon the way, we shall check in Kyaninga lodge immediately on arrival. You can experience the beauty and romance of this unexplored region while staying in the height of luxury and elegance. Enjoy the cottages made from hand carved logs, superb dining and a wealth of adventure await.
DAY 3: KIBALE FOREST CHIMPANZEE TRACKING Breakfast at the lodge, head to the park head offices for briefing about your chimp tracking experience. An experience armed ranger will lead and ensure security throughout the forest as you track the chimps. Once you locate the chimps, you will have a full hour of eye-to-eye contact with them an might have to settle with hearing their hoots and hollers In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for a guided swamp walk in the Bigodi wetland. An observation tower and board walk that traverse the papyrus bed give the best wild walking experience. The walk is about 4km in length, taking 3-4 hours at birding pace with all proceeds into the community to interact with the locals and their culture. DAY 3 TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST Early in the morning after breakfast drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector were you will have good chances to view many tree climbing lions. after a good luck of viewing these favorite cats. Lunch en-route, you will proceed to lake Mutanda in the south western part of Uganda, close to the borders with Rwanda and Congo. DAY 4 GORILLA TRACKING After early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park head quarters for briefing about gorilla tracking. You will encounter one of bwindi’s endangered mountain gorillas. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. The gorillas you track are habituated and can tolerate the presence of human for a brief period of time every day. Once the gorillas have been located, our group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is truly an adventure of a lifetime. DAY 5 TRASFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI After a morning break fast, you will check out of the lodge and embark for lake bunyonyi After a challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi the previous day, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options are birding, nature walks, swimming and canoeing. Lunch and dinner will be prepared at Bunyonyi safari resort.
DAY 6: RETURN TO KAMPALA VIA THE EQUATOR Take a relaxed drive back to Kampala, you will enjoy warm lunch along the way with a stop at the equator to experience both the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere in one place. Photographs and shopping from the equator are a great evidence of a memorable safari in Uganda. Arrival late in the evening in Kampala, dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in the city or in Entebbe just close to the airport
